Organic farming is booming

How to reach organic farms?
Agricultural holdings capitalize on organic farming more than ever. Nowadays one in eight farmers economizes “organic”. Organic businesses cultivate every tenth hectare of the agricultural area in Germany. These 34,000 farms are an important and increasingly strong target group for agricultural suppliers.

How do you get in contact with managers of these farms? Around half of the farms are affiliated to one of the organic farming associations. The leading organizations such as Bioland, Naturland, Demeter and Biokreis have been publishing their own magazines for their organic farms for a long time. In this way these companies can be specifically addressed.

The majority of these association companies, as well as the farms not affiliated with a cultivation association, will read the leading agricultural media such as Topagrar, Agrarheute and DLG-Mitteilungen. In the meanwhile these magazines have set up permanent headings on organic farming or report on them regularly.

So far, the magazine Ökologie & Landbau from the SÖL Foundation has existed as an association-independent medium. Now BioTopp published by DLG-AgroFood and “#Q – Ökologisch erfolgreich” published by UImer have brought two new media onto the market.
